He died in South Haven, Sumner Co., Kansas, and is there in Rosehill Cemetery.

SAMUEL JOHNSON
SAMUEL JOHNSON Was born in Ireland in the year of 1818,
where he lived his life until 1844.
Then from there he departed for the United States locating in Ohio, where he
lived for a number of years. He left Ohio for Illinois and from there he came
to Kansas, where he made his home until death took him away; Nov. 10, 1900,
making him nearly 83 years of age.
Mr. Johnson was a farmer by trade, in which he was an unrelentless worker.
He was united in marriage at the age of 25 years. Ten children were born to
them of which 8 are living. He united with the Baptist Church when a young
man and lived a good Christian life, always ready to make a new friend or to
help an old one.
Death came to him very suddenly. He was out about the barn doing some chores,
where it is supposed he fell dead. It is thought he had been dead nearly half
an hour when found.
SAMUEL JOHNSON
Samuel Johnson died at his home in South Haven, Kansas,
on the evening of Nov, 10, 1900.
He was buried in the Rosehill Cemetery at South Haven.
The funeral was preached by Rev. Stephen's at the Baptist Church Tuesday, Nov.
13. The many friends of the bereaved ones extend their heartfelt sympathy in
the loss of their loving father. Mrs. C. L. Holmes (Jennie) of Wichita, Mrs.
Johns Brooks, of Winfield, S.B. Johnson of Howard, Kansas and John Johnson of
Oklahoma, were here at their father's funeral Wednesday.
