Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Johnson of Garfield Table, celebrated
their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Wednesday, October 16, 1929 at their home,
and nearly all of their neighbors and relatives helped them celebrate the occasion
properly.
When all had assembled a bounteous dinner was served, after which many of the
men indulged in a few games of horseshoe. Then a golden wedding program was
presented. A choir composed of Mr. and a Mrs. Glenn Pinkston, Mrs. George Linn,
Mrs. Goodenow and others sang “Put On Your Old Grey Bonnet” and
other oldie songs. Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Auble also sang a song, which the company
enjoyed immensely. After this Mrs. Goodenow gave a reading in her usual charming
manner. Rev. Merrill then spoke a few, well chosen words and the honored couple
were presented with many beautiful gifts, among which were $30 in gold. Mr.
