extended illness

Vivian was born Sept. 17 1914, to Martha and Ollie Johnson, the youngest of

The family moved to Arnold Neb, in the mid 1920s where she met her best friend
and partner for life, G. Kenneth Steele. They were married in April 1934. Ken's
death in March 1984 was one month short of their 50th anniversary.
Vivian and ken moved many times during the hard times of the 1930s and '40s.
they made many friends in Colorado, Washington, Montana and Utah. They moved
to Boise in 1950 and lived in the Boise Valley most of that time. They spent
summers fishing at Cascade with old and new friends.
In 1968, Vivian decided to take on the challenge of writing a family history
for the Steele family. Ken had seven brothers and two sisters. She kept this
updated on 35 nieces and nephews and 96 grandnieces and grandnephews until approximately
1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Harriet and son-in-law, William A. "Bill", Narver,
of Boise; one son, Jim and wife Martha Steele of Houston Texas; Granddaughter,
Debbie Blackuen and husband, John of Tucson, Arizona; grandsons, William Kenneth
Narver and wife, Jan of Boise, Randy Moss, and wife, Darcie of Tennessee, Greg
Steele and Melissa of Washington, Toby Gebaltney of Kentucky and Mark Verrett
of Texas; four great-granddaughters, Jamie Narver, Jami and Kelsi Moss and Devin
Steele, one great- grandson, Andrew Kenneth Narver; many nieces and nephews
across the country. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents;
