THE TRYON GRAPHIC, Tyron, McPherson County, Nebraska, established 29 December 1889 by D. P. WILCOX, Issued every Friday, 500 per year, circulation 150, Republican.

The newspaper was established in unorganized territory. In 1890, McPherson county was organized by Gov. THAYER, and the temporary county seat located at McPherson, The same year the county organization was made permanent; however, the county seat was located on government land by a vote of the people 4 miles Southeast of McPherson and a post office established called Tryon.

In the Spring of 1893, D. P. WILCOX sold the paper to Jay SMITH. In March 1894, Mr, SMITH leased the paper to E. E. WISNER who ran it a year. On 1 March 1895 SMITH sold the paper to Geo. H. DALY, who installed Will H. DALY, formerly of the Hebron Republican, as mgr. In June 1895 Will H. DALY and his sister, Jennie DALY, a school teacher of Howard Co., bought the paper. In December 1895 Miss DALY was married to S. E. CLOTHIER, then county treasurer. The same fall Miss DALY was elected county supt. of McPherson Co. On 1 August 1900 Will H. DALY sold his interest in the plant and paper to G. A. DOLPH, present editor.

The paper was founded and run as "The McPherson County News" but when Will H. DALY and sister bought the service they changed the name to "The Tryon Graphic".
