Hello, I am related to the Thompsons, Gibsons, and Neals in McPherson Co. We are trying to find the death and burial place of James Albert Thompson (may be known only as Albert). We believe that he died Jan, 1908 in Tryon, Neb. This information is from family sources, but we have never seen any proof. At the supposed time of his death, at least three of his children lived in MacPherson Co.--Orin Thompson (wife Agnes Gibson Thompson), Jesse Monroe Thompson, and Ella (Estella) Anderson (wife of Andrew Peter Anderson). He also had many Neal relatives, his deceased first wife being Adaline Neal, daughter of Jesse and Nancy Ann Neal. There are many of James Albert's decendents who are looking for him. We would be very happy to have any information about him in Nebraska. We think that he probably died while with a daughter or son. Thank you, Cleta Thompson granddaughter of Orin and Agnes Thompson

I am looking for any and all information on Robert Henry SHIMMIN.
He homesteaded a ranch near Tryon around 1890.
The ranch, originally called the Dunwell Ranch, is still in the Shimmin family.
Robert H. Shimmin, also known as "Bob", arrived with his wife, Mattie Belle
Waxler and had 9 children, 2 of whom died in their childhood. He and his wife,
along with several of their children, are burried in the old Miller cemetary.
If anyone has any information, news clips, letters or other references, such
as post or holiday cards, concering Robert or his family, please contact me
via Email at "TShimmin@worldnet.att.net".
I am his great grandson and all information would be of value.
I am finding it nearly inposible to locate early information on Robert prior
to and after, his arrival to the US from Liverpool around 1874.

I don't have any history on him (Hans or John Peters Sonnabend, Jr.) in Dodge county, and that is where my father was assumed to be born, in 1875, and his brother, Frank in 1881. John went to Dodge Co, sometime after the civil war, probably about 1870-71; but I don't know for sure. I know he moved ot McPherson Co. about 1891 and I have his history from there. I just couldn't find any record of him in Dodge Co. I also have his marriage record, where he married in April 1874, Saunders Co, NE; it may be that my father was born there.
Thank you, Carol Davies

********************************************************************* Hi, I would like information on the SONNABAND,COTY,PALMER lines of McPherson Co NE: My paternal grandfather, Hans Peters SONNABEND changed his name to John SONNABAND,when he enlisted in the Army during the Civil War. He married 28 Apr 1874, Saunders Co, NE, Silva Lokeka (PALMER) COTY. They lived for a ti- me in Fremont, Dodge Co, NE; then moved to Tryon, McPherson Co, NE. Silva and Joseph COTY had 6 children, most of whom where born in Fremont,I think: married names connected to them were-DOLPH, BERRY and BOOZE.
