Looking for information on and connections to John William WHITE. He filed for a homestead of 80 acres in the north central part of what was later called North Russell Precinct. He was a farmer, a native of Albemarle Co., VA and lived in the Palmyra Precinct in 1870. He was listed in the Russell Precinct in the 1880 census, and was at that time 34 years old. Evidence indicates the family was still residing there as late as 1885. He was married to Florence H. GARNETT who was born in Howard Co., MO. The couple married in Phelps City, MO on 28 April 1877. They had the following children born in Otoe Co.: Mary Frances White, William G. White, John White, Hugh White, Wade H. White and Ethel White. I believe they moved to Chariton Co., MO where Frances Gladys White was born.
