SELEE, SEELEY Seeking parent Ira Selee, father of Peter Selee. Peter bought land on the south border of Otoe Co about 1867. This land may now be under the Missoiuri River. There was a SEELEY man from Youngstown, OH who bought land in Otoe Co. in 1857. Anyone know either of these men?

My great great grandfather Michael HOULIHAN (HOULAHAN) moved to Nebraska City, Otoe County Nebraska in 1858 with his wife Catherine and their five children. They were all born in Co Tipperary, Ireland and had immigrated to this country in 1850. They lived in South Adams, MA for eight years before moving to Nebraska City. Micheal and Catherine's children were Michael (b. abt 1838), Catherine (b. 1840), Edward (b. 1843), Julia (b.1846) and my great grandmother, Nora (Honora or Hannorah) b. Nov. 6, 1850. Catherine m.. a David O'Brien and Julia married a Burger. Nora's first husband was Michael Martin RYAN and her second husband was Andrew WHALEN (WHELAN). I am seeking any information on the HOULIHANS.

Seeking information and photographs for my 2nd Great-grandfather, Henry WATHEN, b. 14 Feb., 1841, in New Haven, IL, d. 1 Feb., 1905, Jewell co., KS. Henry moved to Otoe county in 1866, and he married Angeline POWELL, of Johnson county, on 8 Aug., 1867, in Otoe county. They had 11 children (all born in Otoe county): George Washington; Hattie b. 1870, d. 1950 in Colorado. She married -?- EAGLE, David DEVENY, and Perry BYRD; Stephen; Eva; Samuel; Winfield Scott; Jefferson Alexander b. 1881, d. 1965 in Kansas. Married Lillian May BRINDLE; Thomas Harden b. 1883, d. 1955 in Kansas. Married Vesta Fern MCMASTER; dau.; Charles Clinton b. 1887, d. 1944 in Lincoln; and Henry Nolan WATHEN b. 1891, d. 1911 in Trenton, NE. The family moved from Otoe county to Jewell county, Kansas in 1900.

I am looking for any information on the GRIFFIN family's of Otoe Co. My three times great-grandmother was Juliett GRIFFIN b: 1852 Ashtabula CO. Ohio. I know that she and her cousin William GRIFFIN raised their families in Nebraska City, Otoe Co. NE. William married Elizabeth ? and three of their children were William Jr., Viola and Elsie. Looking for further information on Sylviner R. GILLASPIE listed in the Nebraska 1860 state census, Nebraska City Third Ward. He is listed as age 31, Teamster, born in North Carolina. Also listed is: Harriet age 30 Born in Illinois John H. age 8 born in Missouri Percilla J. age 6 born in Missouri Abraham age 4 born in Nebraska Mary A. age 2 born in Nebraska John R. age 57 born in North Carolina Family records indicate Abe (age 4 in this census) was the first white child born in Nebraska City. Would like to prove or disprove this if possible. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Immigrated with her children to America after the death of her husband, William JOSE, in England. Her son, John JOSE married Mary Elizabeth BEETEM (?) and lived in Otoe County for a time.
