I am researching the following families in Otoe County, NE.
David C. WALTER and his children. Daughters were Henrietta b
1853, Melissa b 1864, Mary Jane b 1861, Grace b 1872. Sons were
William G. b 1856, Wesley b 1867.
David and Luzie Brubaker Walter were the parents of my
great-grandfather Edwin Walter.
I would like any information on the other children of David and
Luzie. The Walter family homesteaded in Otoe County sometime
after 1856 but before 1860. David and Luzie are buried in Camp
Creek Church Cemetery.
I am also researching the Philip STRINE family. My
great-grandmother was his daughter Emma Jane, and she married
Edwin Walter in 1881 in Otoe County, NE. The marriage
certificate that I have states they were married at the bride's
family home. I am wondering where that was.

SHALLENBERGER, SHELLENBERGER
Searching for information on Isaac SHALLENBERGER and his
descendants of Nebraska City.
Isaac Shallenberger came to the Nebraska City area from Fayette
County, PA, about 1850. His son, Joseph S. Shallenberger, owned
a farm nearby from 1857 until his death in 1874. David B.
Shallenberger then owned the farm until 1939. My grandfather,
Larsh Shallenberger, was born on this farm about 1885.
In 1860, Joseph S. Shellenberger and his wife, Margaret, were
listed in the Otoe County census with five small children:
Leander age 10; Joseph age 8; Sabina age 6; Thomas age 4; and
Sterling age 8 mos. Also in the household were Jacob age 21;
Susan age 18; and Isaiah Shellenberger, age 19. The last three
are thought to be siblings of Joseph S. Shellenberger.
My grandfather, Larsh Shallenberger, may have been named for a
physician practicing in Nebraska City in 1885 named Napolean B.
Larsh. My grandfather became a school principal and about 1916
married a teacher named Amy, who had been born in Wales in 1894.
They moved by 1925 to Ames, IA and later to Chicago, IL.
I am seeking information on descendants, and would like to find
birth, death, and marriage records. Any help would be
appreciated.
