BRANDON, a station on the Cheyenne branch of the B. & M. R. R. eight and one-half miles east of the Colorado line. It has recently been established as a postoffice.

Elsie, a station on the B. & M. R. R., in the eastern part of Perkins county, 18 miles east of Grant, the county seat. Population, 200.

Grant, is the county seat of the new county of Perkins. The town at present has five hundred people. There are three banks and two weekly newspapers, the Sentinel and Enterprise. The churches are the Methodist and the Congregational. The hotels are the St. Elmo and the Commercial, both first-class. This new town is on the line of the B. & M. R. R.

Lisbon, a station on the B. & M. R. R., in the western part of Perkins count, seven miles from Grant, the county seat. It has a population of 20.

Madrid, is on the Cheyenne branch of the B. & M. R. R. in the central part of Perkins county, 10 miles east of Grant, the county seat, and 25 miles south of Ogalalla. It has a population of about 350 and is incorporated as a village. Religion is represented by two denominations, Congregational and Methodist, the former having a very fine church edifice. A very nice school house has just been built at a cost of $3,000. A flour mill is about to bve erected to have a capacity of 75 barrels per day.
