How to Post a Query
HOW TO POST A QUERY
Your query must pertain to Morrill County, Nebraska for it to be posted. All queries must contain deceased individuals only; anyone born after 1900 is consider living, unless you can provide a date of death of this person.
All queries are check about once a year to make assure that all e-mail addresses are current. If a reply is not received within a reasonable time of that posting it will be removed to cease future email bounces. All recent posting will be updated as time is permitted.
Here are some suggestions to include in your query.
- Put the surnames in UPPERCASE. (Example: John SMITH)
- Give the wife's maiden name in UPPERCASE, if known. (Example: Elizabeth JONES)
- Include ALL dates of birth, marriage, and/or death. If date are unknown; Please estimate. (Example: Abt 1850)
- Give the name of the city or town, if known.
- Explain briefly what you are looking for. (Below is a couple of GOOD examples)
- Be sure you have include your Name, Email, and/or Personal Website. Along with your message and listed Surname(s).
- Check your spelling!!!
Here are a couple of good example on how to write your query:
Example:
Looking for ancestral information of John SMITH/SMYTH b: 16 July 1850 Nebraska; who migrated to Morrill County, Nebraska, Spring 1880; d 12 June 1923, Lawrence, Morrill County, Nebraska. Have information to share.
Example:
SMITH/SYMTH, John, who migrated to Morrill County, Nebraska spring 1880. Married to Elizabeth JONES of Milford, Morrill County, Nebraska in 1860. I'm looking for information about his family in Nebraska. Will share more information with others.
