The marriage of Mrs. Carrie Kaiser Junker to Ira Junker, Sr. took place Aug. 3,1939, at Beatrice, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Junker went to housekeeping at his home, just east of the Bower corner, northeast of Fairbury, Ne.

A double ring ceremony was performed at the Methodist parsonage Thursday, Dec. 10th, 1936, at 2:30 P.M. when Miss Clara Dallman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dallman of Western became the bride of Mr. Clarence Wahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wahl, also of Western, with Rev. K. H. Clifton, pastor of the Western Methodist Church officiating.

The bride was attired in an ankle-length gown of Paris blue, with silver accessories and a blue and pink corsage at the neck. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. The groom wore a oxford gray suit. The bride was attended by Miss Ruth Schwan, who wore an ankle length organdy gown of sky blue. Her wrist corsage consisted of pink snap-dragons.

After the ceremony a five o'clock dinner was served at the home of the bride's parent's, Mr. and Mrs. George Dallman. The center piece for the table was a beautiful wedding cake and a bouquet of white chrysanthemums on each end of the table. At a late hour lunch was served, and all departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wahl, "A long and happy wedded life." Mr. and Mrs. Wahl will make their home in Tobias. The wave wishes to join their many friends in extending congratulations.


Mr. and Mrs. George Dallman Are Feted
On 50th wedding anniversary.
 
Honoring Mr. and Mrs. George Dallman of 1124 C street, Fairbury, on their 50th wedding anniversary, open house was Sunday afternoon, Feb. 14, 1965, in the fellowship hall of the First Methodist church. Among the 150 guests who called to extend their congratulations was Mrs. Emil Brunkow of Fairbury, bridesmaid at the original ceremony 50 years ago. Guests came from Daykin, Lincoln, Plymouth, Western, Swanton, Des Moines Ia., Belvidere and Marysville, KS.

Greeting the guests at the door were children of the honored couple, Clara, Mrs. Ed Marshman of Fairbury, Gerald of Des Moines, Ia., and Mrs. Dorothy Hart of Lincoln. Mrs. Lawrence Junker had charge of the guest book while arranging cards and gifts were Ronnie Wahl and Miss Marilyn Wells, both of Lincoln. Seven nieces of the honorees presided at the lace covered serving table with a three-tiered anniversary cake decorated in gold and white. 

Mrs. Vernon Brueggeman of Daykin and Mrs. Rolland Moellenberndt of Fairbury cut the cake while Mr. and Mrs. Dale Henske of Fairbury served the coffee and Mrs. Elmer Marshman of Marysville, Kas. poured the punch. Assisting were Mrs. Homer McAdams of Western, and Mrs. Elmer Milius of Plymouth and Mrs. Oscar Branson of Fairbury. With the couple for the occasion were all of their children, Clara, Mrs. Ed Marshman of Fairbury, Mrs. Dorothy Hart of Lincoln, Gerald Dallman of Des Moines, Iowa,; grandchildren, Joann, Mrs. Lawrence Junker of Fairbury, Ronnie Wahl of Lincoln, Bryce, Danny and Crystal Dallman of Des Moines, Iowa, and great grandchildren, Larry, Dwain and Carol Junker of Fairbury.


Mr. and Dave Fritz on
60th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fritz of Western were honored by friends and relatives Sunday, Oct. 14, 1973, with an open house for their 60th wedding anniversary. Chris Fritz, who was an attendant at the original wedding, was present for the special occasion. Guests were greeted at the door by Lowell Fritz of Lincoln and Neil Mariska of Crete. Barbara Fritz of Lincoln was at the guest book and gave out anniversary booklets which were made by Mr. and Mrs. Brian Mariska of Central City. 

Mrs. Lowell Fritz of Lincoln displayed gifts and cards. The Women's Fellowship of the church was in charge of the serving. Mrs. Floyd Timm of Crete and Mrs. George Janke of Hastings poured punch and coffee. Mrs. Al Sellenrick of Jansen and Mrs. Herman Hinzmann of Lincoln, served cake and ice cream. Mrs. Neil Mariska of Crete made the mints. The cake, used as a centerpiece, and sheet cakes, were baked by Mrs. Lura Rose of Dorchester.


Golden Anniversary Open House
Fetes Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fritz
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fritz of Western were honored in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday Nov. 14, 1965, at United Church of Christ. There were 255 guests attending. Emma Nickel and Gus Fritz were married Nov. 18, 1915, at the United Church of Christ by Rev. E. Aleck. The couple farmed south of Western until 1941. Since then they have resided in Western where Mr. Fritz is active as cream and produce manager.

Attendants at the original wedding were Clara Kohlschmidt, now Mrs. Bert Holcombe of Western, Eldora Wahl, now Mrs. Rolland Curry of Casa Grande, Ariz., who were able to attend the anniversary observance, and WALTER KAISER AND CHRIS TIMM, both deceased.

The couple have two children, Leva, Mrs. George Jahnke of Hastings, and Harold, who resides on the home farm; also four grandchildren, Colleen and Gregory Jahnke and Barbara and Michael Fritz. Bronze and gold mums and gold candles adorned the serving table covered with a lace cloth over gold. The centerpiece featured a numeral "50".

Guests were greeted at the door by the honorees son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fritz of Western and son-in-law, and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Jahnke of Hastings. A grandson, Gregory Jahnke presided at the guest book. Mrs. Jerry Smith of Western displayed the gifts. United Church of Christ Fellowship, of which Mrs. Fritz is a member, served assisted by Mrs. Herman Hinzmann of Fairbury, Mrs. Robert Mariska of Dorchester, and Mrs. Arnold Fritz of Western.

Guests were in attendance from Daykin, Tobias, Fairbury, Dorchester, Dewitt, Crete, Lincoln, Fullerton, Hastings, Swanton, Plymouth, Millard, Milford, Powell, Bruning, Humboldt, Beatrice, Sioux Falls and LeMars, Iowa. A six o'clock dinner in the church parlor followed the open house for the honored couple ,families and friends ,and out of town guests. Assisting with the dinner were Mrs. Elmer Baatz, Mrs. Waldo Nickel, Mrs. Homer Gross of Western and Mrs. Wayne Hohense of Dorchester. Over 50 attended.


A quiet home wedding was solemnized Thursday morning, February 6, 1913, at the home of the bride just east of Western, when Miss Carrie Kaiser was united in marriage to Mr. Peter H. Junker, Rev. F. H. Schultz of the M. F. Church German performing the ceremony; after which a splendid dinner was served.

The winsome bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kaiser living near town. She is well and favorably known in that vicinity. The groom is said to be a worthy young man, of Fairbury. The couple boarded the west bound train for Clay Center. This paper joins in congratulations and best wishes for their future.


FARMER AWARD
Gus Fritz Family Receives
Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award
Friday the Gus Fritz family was invited to the Crete Fair to receive the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award for 100 years or more by continued ownership of their farm within the same family. Christian Fritz Sr. was born in Germany and landed in Wisconsin and was married there in April of 1871. He emigrated to Nebraska, Saline Co, in June of the same year in a covered wagon. He settled on a farm one mile east and almost three south of Western which he bought from James Robison for $800. 

The certificate was signed by President Ulysses S. Grant. They first lived in a dug out, and a big barn is still standing on the farm, not put together with nails, but with pegs in 1916. His son Gus and wife Emma took over the farm. Gus and wife have two children, a son, Harold and a daughter, Leva, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. After Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fritz left the farm, they built a new home for son Harold, who with his family still live on the farm.
