This material was donated by the The Pastfinder Library. ALL the Saline County cemeteries are in a database in the Pastfinder Library. They have more than 30,000 names. Information includes full name, birth & death dates, parents & spouses if available. They have copies of many cemetery sexton records which they constantly update. The following are other names which were used for some of the Saline Co. cemeteries.

"Andrew" was always the same. It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 24 in Friend Township. 2nd Photo

"Applegate" was always the same. It is located in the N 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Sec 26 in Turkey Creek Township.

"Atlanta" is known as "Atlanta Center" as it is in the center of Atlanta Precinct. It is located in the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 22 in Atlanta Township.

Bohemian National is now known as "Big Blue". But "Bohemian National", "Narodni Hrbitov", & "Half Way" were also used at one time. Half way because it is half way between Crete & Wilber. It is located in the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 34 in Big Blue Township.

"Blue Valley" is the present name but was earlier known as "Jindra" & "Maple Grove". It is located in the NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 2 in Big Blue Township.

"Cecho Slovansky" is now known as "Wilber Czech". It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 16 in Wilber Township.

"Dorchester" was always the same. It is located in the SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 16 in Dorchester Township.

Friendville cemetery is located on part of NW 1/4 of SE 1/4, of 14-8-1, Friend Twp. 3 acre lot straight north of the center of Friend. Unfortunately it is located in the center of someone's farm ground & access is limited as there is no access road. The Pastfinder Library has a list of the stones read in 2005 by volunteers.

"Johnson Creek" was always the same. It is located in the NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 2 in Friend Township.

"Monroe" is known as "Monroe Union". It is located in the NE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 29- in Monroe Township.

"North Fork" was also known as "Bohemian" & "Voresek". It is located in the SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 10 in North Fork Township.

"Oak Grove" was also called "Dewitt City". It is located in the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 14 in Dewitt Township.

"Old Zion" is the old cemetery where the church used to be. It is located in the NE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 28 in Olive Township.

"Plainview" was always the same. It is located in the NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 16 in South Fork Township.

"Pleasant Hill" was always the same. It is located in the NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 9 in Pleasant Hill Township.

"Plummer Branch" was always the same. It is located in the SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 24 in Swan Creek Township.

"Riverside" was always the same. It is located in the W 1/2 of SE 1/4 of Sec 28 in Crete Township.

"Sacred Heart" was always the same. It is located in the SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 33 in Crete Township.

"Saint Joseph" was always the same. It is located in the SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 26 in Friend Township. 2nd Photo

"South Fork" was also known as "Methodist". It is located in the SE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 19 in Swan Creek Township.

"Sunnyside" was always the same. It is located in the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 15 in Wilber Township.

"Swanton" is now known as "Swan Valley". It is located in the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 34 in Swan Creek Township.

"Tobias" was always the same. It is located in the SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 17 in Olive Township.

"Union" was always the same. It is located in the SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 17 in South Fork Township.

"Friendville" cemetery was dissolved in the early 1900s. Friendville used to be the name of the town. The stones were supposed to have been moved but rumors persist that the stones were just buried & the graves never moved. Who knows. It is located in the NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 14 in Friend Township.

"Gilbert" was also known as "Hulse" & "Turkey Creek". Turkey Creek name caused confusion so it was renamed Gilbert. It is located in the SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 33 in Lincoln Township.

"Kasak" cemetery was always the same. It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 30 in Turkey Creek Township.

"Old Dorchester" cemetery was located on the north side of North Depot St. between East St. & Dupont St. The bodies were transferred to the new cemetery in the 1880s, & the old cemetery dissolved.

"Smith" cemetery is a small family cemetery located in the NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 19 in Dewitt Township.

"Smith Family Plot" is a small family cemetery containing only two graves & no stones. It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 10 in South Fork Township.

"Steinacher Burial plot" is in the same section as Kasak cemetery. It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 30 in Turkey Creek Township. Some believe it is part of Kasak.

"Summit" cemetery was always the same. It is located in the NW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 12 in Brush Creek Township.

"Turkey Creek German" was also known as "German", "German Congregational", & "German Lutheran". It is made up of German Lutheran on the north half  & German congregational on the south half. It is located in the NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec 6 in Turkey Creek Township.

"Tvrz" cemetery was also known as "Bohemian National". As you can see with so many Bohemian National cemeteries the reason for changing some of the names. It is located in the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 30 in Turkey Creek Township.

"Waymire" cemetery was always the same. It is located in the NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 32 in Brush Creek Township.

"Zion Lutheran" cemetery is the newest one for the Zion Lutheran Church & is located behind the New Church location in the SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Sec 21 in Olive Township.
