Mrs Antonia Uldrich Chasdek was born at Trtice Okres Nove Straseci Czechoslovakia on April 10, 1853 and fell asleep to waken no more in this world on March 10, 1931, at the age of 77 years and 11 months. She came to America when a child, making her early home in Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Chasdek. Afterwards, they moved to Saline Co. NE where they remained for practically the remainder of their lives. The latter part of their lives was spent at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Henry Sobotka near Tobias, NE, at which place she resided at the time death came to her. Her husband preceded her in death three months. Those who are left to mourn her passing are the children, Mrs. Sarah Rauch of LaPorte City, IA; Mrs Minnie Norris of Fairbury, NE; Mrs Matilda Schroeder of Fairbury, NE; Mrs Henry Sobotka of Tobias, NE; John Chasdek of Fairbury, NE; and Edward, Frank and Charlie of Western, NE. There are also fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Sobotka home on March 12, at 1o'clock by Mr. Chas. Smrha of Milligan. A ladies quartet from Milligan rendered special numbers in song. Interment was made in the cemetery at Western by the side of her husband. "So suddenly it came, the call that all must heed, So quietly she listened as the sun went down, So restfully the shadow fell o'er lip and brow, So peacefully her spirit passed from cross to crown. And he called to rest His well beloved one Will heal each grieving heart, His gracious will be done."
