Wilber Republican April 11, 1941 Mr. Edward Chasdek was born March 4, 1884, near Western and departed this life at his home 7 miles north and 1/4 mile west of Western on Wednesday, April 2, 1941, attaining the age of 57 years and 29 days. He was married to Miss Jennie (Franzen) Tarno, who preceded him in death. To this union, two daughters were born, who today survive the loss of their father, namely Mrs May Duba of Western and Mrs Ethel Steinecker of Milligan. September 2, 1914, he was united in marriage to Miss Sadie Kochsmeier and to this union was born a son, who died July 24, 1917. Edward was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Sarah. He is survived by his wife, Sadie, two daughters and three sisters, Mrs Minnie Norris and Mrs Tillie Schroeder of Fairbury, NE; and Mrs Daisy Sobotka of Tobias, NE; three brothers, John of Fairbury, Frank and Charles Chasdek of Western and many relatives and a vast host of friends. Ed, with his cheery smile and friendly manner, made friends wherever he went. He was taken sick a year ago in September and has been confined to his home most of the time. He was ministered to by his f aithful wife, relatives and friends. He was always cheerful throughout his illness He spent most of his life farming which he did with great success and loved best to be at home with his family. The funeral was held from the Winter Brothers Chapel at Western, NE, April 4, 1941. Mr. W. J. Borecky of Wilber, NE officiated both at the chapel and at the grave. Interment took place in the Plainview Cemetery, north of Western. (NE).
