Elsie Elizabeth Gutzmer daughter of Ferdinand and Johanna Billie Gutzmer, was born 
Oct. 5, 1889, in the province of Pommern, Germany. At the age of 13 was confirmed in 
the Lutheran faith, remaining a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church 
until her death.

She died June 23, 1955, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 18 days. Surviving are a 
sister, Mrs. Emma Zieman of Fairbury, and three brothers, Otto of Powell, Gustav of 
Western and Ervin of Janesville, Wis. Funeral services were at Western, and internment 
in Plainview Cemetery, Rev. Walter F. Kieker officiating. Pallbearers were William Dwyer, 
Chris Fritz, August Hinzmann, Frank Schwan, Herman Timm and Edwin Zade.
