Paul Nickel of Clay Center Ne., was born in Pommern, Germany, January 7, 1879, and was suddenly called home to his heavenly reward, Sept. 1, 1916, at the age of 37 years, 7 months and 25 days. He was residing in Saline Co. Ne. when on Dec. 30th 1901, he was married to Miss Carrie Parr. This happy union God blessed, with three children; two sons, and one daughter. He was converted to God early in life, under the labor of Rev. Martin, and joined the Evangelical association, of which he remained a faithful member and was repeatedly elected to the various offices of the church, Sunday school, and Y.P.A., and at the time of his departure he was steward, treasurer, chorister and Sunday school teacher. Brother Nickel was a wholehearted Christian, the pastor's friend, and a friendly man, always ready to help. He will be greatly missed by all in the church and community, as by his kind and friendly disposition, he was dearly beloved. Yet none will miss him as much as the sorrowing widow and children to whom he was a devoted husband and father. May God graciously comfort them, and grant them a happy reunion in heaven. He leaves wife, three children, three brothers, three sisters, and a large circle of friends to mourn his untimely departure, but thankful for his Christian example and the clear tokens of his salvation. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the Immanuel Church, Rev. Wm. Noermberg assisting Rev. F. Becker in conducting the funeral. Burial in the Clay Center Cemetery. ####################### USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
