Funeral services for Sadie Karoline Amalie Kochsmeier Chasdek, 75, who died at 
the Crete hospital on March 7, (1967) were conducted from St. John's United Church 
of Christ in Western, (NE) with Pastor Edwin Eiben, officiating.

Born on July 29, 1890 to Henry and Marie Kochsmeier at Western, she was baptized in 
St. John's church in Western by Rev. Steinhardt and confirmed in 1904 by Rev. Limpez. 
On September 2, 1914, she was married to Edward Chasdek. She and her husband made 
their home near Western all their married lives.

Her survivors include Maye Duba, Ethel Steinacher; two grandchildren, Henry Kochsmeier of 
Fairbury; William Kochsmeier of Forreston, IL; Mary Henke of Vale, Oregon; Alvina Chasdek 
of Western; Dan Kochsmeier of Julesburg, Colorado; August Kochsmeier of Vale, Oregon; 
Nettie Snyder of Desplaines, Illinois; and Urana Chasdek of Western. Pallbearers were David 
Fritz, Christian Fritz, Guy Nickel, Herman Henke, Rolham Henke and Herman Gross.
