It this becomes our sad task to announce the death of this estimable lady. Mrs. Steen came to our town some time ago and has since lived in our midst with her two children, a little girl and boy. Her husband, Mr. Theodore Steen, brother of Messrs. John and Otto Steen of this place, died in Omaha in September last Sept. 28th, 1881, and his remains were brought to this place for interment. His wife now rests beside him, after suffering intensely for several months from that fell destroyer consumtion. ____ is a sad blow to the friends and more especially, the little childrenbright, lovable children, who are left at the ages of nine and thirteen years to mourn the loss of both father and mother. The funeral obsequies took place at the Presbyterian church Monday morning, a large assemblage of our townspeople being present and following to the cemetery. Mrs. Steen's father arrived on the noon train, Monday, having been delayed in Council Bluffs, and so not getting here in time to see his daughter.
