LAVERTY, WILLIAMS posted by Cleo Delaney on Monday, July 27, 1998

I want to check on and verify information passed down to me about my mother's side of the family. Her father, Alvin Laverty arrived in Saunders County around 1871,married Ollie Williams, 1894. Alvin, my grandfather, was the son of Anson A. Laverty. He had an older living brother at the time, Alex Laverty, and the following half-brothers or half-sisters: Jay, Guy, Jessie, Richard, Cora, Clyde, and Maude. Born to Alvin and Ollie, my grandparents, were Jay, 1895, Alex, 1897, Nettie (my mother) 1901, and Erette, 1902. Because particular siblings of my grandfather were quite successful, I would like to obtain information or the source for information about any or all of those mentioned above. A family history is in narrative form, written about 1911, but it is sparse in terms of anecdotes, biographical or personal after the story of Anson's moves westward. I am in the initial stages of preparing a more complete family history for my grandchildren. I have collected oral histories from the only living aunt and from my own siblings, but we are all determined to have a more complete understanding of our own ancestors.
