looking for a "Silly Riley" death record, obituary, cemetery listing, etc around 1880-1886. She was last censused living with son, James Riley in 1880 in Pohocco Precinct of Saunders Co.
In particular looking for descendants of James E. MADDEN and Lamedia Ann BARNETT who apparently moved to Saunders County in the 1880's from Mills County, Iowa. Would like information on whether James and Lamedia are buried in Saunders County, etc. Do have some information given to us by a BARNETT researcher. Also looking for any FICKLE (FICKEL) and WILSON families in Saunders County about the same time. In particular looking for the family of a Charity WILSON, probably born in the 1870's or 1880's. Also looking for the surnames EVANS and DAVIS who may have travelled with these people from Mills county, Iowa.
My g-grandparents lived in the area around Colon. They were Mortimer Howard & Elenora (Elsie) Burchell Howard. Their family moved to Saunders county about 1870. I found their graves at the Holy Rosary Cemerary (5 miles west of Colon) but I have been unsuccessful in obtaining records from the Catholic church in Colon (St. Joseph). My grandfather Samuel B Howard married Bridget Shanahan from Wisconsin, but they lived in Holt County when they were married in 1884. However, Bridget's brother Malik is also buried at the Holy Rosary cemetary. How did he get to Saunders? Was he also married to a Howard? Another Howard (Bartholomew) was married to a Johanna Burchell. There is some documentation that Bartholomew also lived in Saunders county. I am trying to find out if Bartholomew was related to Mortimer and how Johanna is related to Elsie? Do you have any suggestions as to how I might find more information about these folks?
