CONSIDIEN, DWYER, GORMAN, HOGAN, MCGOWAN, MORRISSEY, SHANAHAN posted by Caroyl Donahue on Sunday, October 14, 2001

Hello, It has been awhile since I posted q query regarding the Gorman and Hogan families. I can now place Patrick Hogan on a farm south east of Mead Nebraska beginning 1870. I have had no luck finding him in the 1880 census although I know he lived out his life there. I had hoped to use the 1880 census to follow the children of Patrick and Catherine. In 1870 their children were 2 in number. JW and Anna. Anna was my grandmother. She married Richard Gorman who also farmed near Mead. I know there was at least one more child name Joan. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate hearing from you. My thanks.

DWYER, GORMAN, HOGAN, MCGOWN, MORRISSEY posted by Caroyl Donahue on Sunday, October 21, 2001

During this past week I have larned several things regarding these famimlies. Using the US census it now appears that Patrick and Katherine Hogan had 4 children besides my grandmother Anna Hogan Gorman. They were James W, Johanna, Nora and Agnes. I know one of the girls became a num and was involved with St. Catherines Hospital Omaha, NE. I have no idea what became of the other children. James is buried in St. James Catholic cemetery in Union Township Saunders County. Does anyone know what happened to the Hogans. They were no longer farming in 1910. Help would be appreciated. I believe the Morrissey and Dwyers families were realted to the Hogans also. Julia Morrisey was a playmate to the Gorman children, and is referred to as a cousin.

Hi, would anyone have any information other than what the tombstone of Dederick Radensleben and Maria Niedfelt shows? I am interested in any Niedfelt/ Niedfeld, Lienemann, or Radensleben information from Wahoo, Ithaca, or any Saunders County statistics on these families. Thank You! Betty Eilts.

LUBKER posted by Carolyn Lubker on Wednesday, November 7, 2001

LUBKER, Hans H.listed as a Farmer in the 1890-1891 List of Saunders County Farmers in Malmo, NE. Is there any other information about him in Saunders County? My husband had a grandfather, Henry Lubker d. June 19, 1928 in Columbus, Nebraska. Henry was born May 15, 1855 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Henry was only 12 years old when he left Germany. His father, Hinrich Frederick Lubker, and the mother, and brothers and sisters left at the same time. We heard that Henry Lubker's grandfather, Hans, settled in Saunders County. Please reply if you know the name LUBKER. Thank you. Carolyn Lubker.

Understand you have found the home for the tombstone of the four young children on the tombstone from Memphis Lake. My husband and I return tombstones which is a very satisfying 'hobby'. We have a few tombstones we are unable to find homes for. If you have another missing tombstone please let us know what the name is. We will check our stones as we would like to find them homes. We have returned about 25.

BROTHERS, BROWN, BUCHANNAN, CAREY, HUFFMANN, VALLIER posted by Irene Wright on Monday, November 26, 2001

I am looking for descendants of Peter and Mary BROTHERS- VALLIER. Peter never did live in Ashland, Ne as he died enroute from Iowa. Mary lived in ASHLAND, NE until her death in 1911. Their daughter, Rose or Rosalee VALLIER-DeHart was my grandmother. There used to be a lot of relatives in the Ashland area. At least two of their sons lived in Ashland, William and Alex. Peter also lived there at one time. Two of their daughters also lived there, an ANGELINE HUFFMANN and a JULIA CAREY. The other children were, Pleasure Buchannan, Eleanor Brown, Charles. It seems like there were some more but I am not where my book is right now. Hope someone out there can help me. Thanks. Irene.
