MILLER, STAMP, STORM, WAGEMANN posted by Cliff jacobs on Thursday, May 19, 2005

I am interested in obtaining more accurate date of birth, birth place and date of death of my G-grandparents: Hans Storm, died in 1920, Sophia Wagemann Storm, in 1939, W. C. Miller Sr, died in 1924, and Maria Stamp Miller in 1917. All were residents of Yutan and lived in the local community most of their adult lives. I would think their obits would have been published in the Wahoo Papers. Thanks.

ANDERSON, NELSON, SPICHER posted by Karen Kelsey on Wednesday, June 15, 2005

I am looking for information about William and Christina Anderson, who settled in Richland Township in the 1890s. They can be found on both the 1900 and 1910 censuses, and they are buried at the Swedeburg church cemetery in section #6. Their children were Hilma, Arthur, and Alma. I can locate Hilma (Mrs. Oscar Nelson) and Arthur Anderson in the 1920 census, but I cannot find Alma, who was supposed to have married R. R. Spicher. Did any of the descendents stay in Saunders County? Their Swedish descendents have contacted me, and are wondering if the Anderson/Nelson descendents still live around there.

CHRISTENSEN, FJELDGAARD posted by Jonna Kvist on Saturday, June 18, 2005

My great great grandfather Jens Christian Jensen Fjeldgaard, lived and died in Fremont. I believe he arrived about 1882 and he died March 3. 1893, Was burried March 6. 1893.He lived in this place: 841 West Mile Ave, Fremont Nebraska. His daughter Mary and her husband Jens Christian Jensen, moved into the house, when he died. After a few years, they have got a new adress:
Jens C.Jensen, Lock Box 53, Fremont Nebraska.
(Mary was born about 1876). Jens Christian Jensen Fjeldgaard owned 2 places next to each other.Only a few meters between them. He rights, that he lives "in the town" and Mary an Jens Christian, who also were neighbours, lived at the country side.
I believe he was rather wealthy, from what I know about the prices of his funeral. There were 20 carriages following the casket. His tumbstone cost 70 dollars, and the casket cost 32 dollars, so there might be a very small chance, that something was mentioned in the newspaper. We don't know, where he was burried.
He had a son in law named Peter (I don't know his last name) married to Christiane, - Peter was a merchant in Fremont, together with his 2 brothers. They came from Denmark too.
My great great grandfather was married to "Stine" when he lived there, but he was still married to my great great grandmother in Denmark. He left her and 5 children, together with the Mormons, in the early 1860'ties so he might have got another name, because they were baptized as mormons, - but his adress is correct.
He also owned a farm in Plainview, named "Fjeldgaard", - just like his farm in Denmark
. The Fjeldgaard farm in Plainview was given to his other daughter Else Marie Christensen (born Jensen, in Denmark) and her husband Lars Severin Christensen. They had a daughter called "Bine". Else Marie died at "Fjeldgaard" in Plainview February 1912, and I believe, that Lars Severin Christensen, died in 1916.
I've found a street in Fremont, called "Jensen Street" - why is it called like that, - does anybody know?
I hope, someone will give me a response on this, because we have search "all over" without any luck. Here in Denmark we have found 25 letters, only 3 months ago. Letters from my great great grandfather Jens Christian Jensen Fjeldgaard, to a daughter in Denmark, named Karen Marie Hansen. Thats why I know about the adress and other things.
Best regards
