LONE ELM CEMETERY

This cemetery is also known as Gray Cemetery or Graystone Cemetery.  It is located about 11 miles almost straight west of Loup City, Sherman County, Nebraska or 10.3 miles east of Ansley, Custer County, Nebraska on Hwy 92.  The cemetery is one mile north on a county road.  It is a a cross-roads where 4 sections meet  It is situated in Section 18, Township 15, Range 16, west of the 6th p.m.

Land for this cemetery was purchased march 6, 1886 from L. Lowery for $20.00.  It's incorporators were:  C. Newell, H. E. Smith, A. F. Kuhn, D. H. Mitchener, H. A. Sparling, George E. Bennett, Melvin Lowery, Worthy Bishop, Goerge E. Kunzer, A. C. Gates, G. F. Lupton, J. A. Niles, Eli Bettenger, Walter Smith, Esau Belden sexton:  March 5, 1888, as recorded in County Courthouse, Register of Deeds, Loup City, miscellaneous records book 1, page 583.
