Hazel Mary Garber

Hazel Mary Garber was born at Guide Rock, Nebraska, December 7, 1890, and died December 29, 1918 at Genessee, Idaho. Her early life was spent in Nebraska and on August 24, 1911 she was united in marriage to Howard O. Wiswell. To this union three children were born, two of which died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her a husband, Howard O. Wiswell of Genessee, Idaho; father and stepmother, W.M. Garber and wife of Alexandria, Nebr; two sisters, Alice Ely of Guide Rock and Clara Prather of Reynolds, besides Earl Garber, her half brother, and two half sisters, Dorothy and Mary Garber.

Benjamin W. Gates

Benjamin W. Gates was born April 6th, 1853, in Andrew Co., MO, and died at his home near Hebron, Nebr., Jan. 17, 1912. He was married to Miss Laura A. Smith at Bethany, MO., Nov. 1, 1877. To this union were born ten children, five sons and five daughters, seven of whom are living: Mrs. Earl May of Beatrice, Nebr., Mrs. A. R. Kennedy of Lincoln, Nebr., Carl and Earl Gates of St. Joseph, MO., Ruth, Guy and George Gates who are yet at home. Mr. Gates moved with near Hebron until the time of his death. Twenty three years ago Mr. Gates became a Christian, uniting with the Methodist church in which he continued a worthy member until ten years ago when he united with the Hebron Christian church, in which he was a worthy and honored member, firm in the faith, at the time of his death. Quiet, worthy, honorable citizen; true loving, de- voted husband and father. He leaves besides the members of his own family, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn his decease. The funeral services were held from the home on Friday, Jan. 19th, after which interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. W. E. Bran- denburg, Christian minister, officiating.

Samuel L. Graves

SAMUEL L. GRAVES: One of Belvidere's oldest and most respected citizens, Samuel L. Graves, died at his home Sunday morning of a complication of diseases. The deceased has been a sufferer for several years and has been confined to his home for a number of months. He leaves a wife and five children--three sons and two daughters. Only two were present at the time of his death, but his son Fred arrived only an hour after his demise.

The funeral was held at the M. E. church Monday at 3 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. Jewell, assisted by the G. A. R., the deceased being a soldier in the Mich. Inf.
