Horace DAVIS, my great grandfather, owned the Ord Journal and continued to write about family, history and politics his entire life. Horace was a state senator, state fire marshall, a school superintendant, journalist and farmer. Family legend holds that Horace was a campaign manager for Wm. Jennings BRYAN. I can support that they were friends, but I can't substantiate the claim. He lived and wrote for nearly 100 years. These articles are great! (Though highly romantisized (sic?) Examples- So You Want to Build a Sod House, Happy Jack Remembered, etc. I would like to know if there are any descendants still in the area or any interest in my materials.
