Jeff Murphy was one of the people responsible for the birth of The USGenWeb Project. Jeff played an integral role in starting the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project, which evolved into the KyGenWeb Project. It was Jeff who set up the first USGenWeb main page with Kentucky and Arkansas having the first state sites. For his efforts we owe Jeff a tremendous debt of gratitude. |

Larry Swaney Assistant State Coordinator for the NEGenWeb Project and county coordinator for Cherry, Jefferson, and Thayer Counties. He was active in getting the state project organized, and was a prime mover in recruiting other volunteers to help with the project. Larry died January 24, 1997. |
Ronald Dean Vosika January 25, 1934 - January 16, 2000. Ron, along with his wife, Alice, have been good supporters of our project, and have volunteered to help in any way they can. Ron will always be known in our group as the fisherman who helped to catch the 'big one' at the lake at our Meet & Greet in Aurora, Nebraska. Ron passed away January 16, 2000. |
Jon Douglas Almquist Feb. 4, 1942 - July 7, 2004. County Coordinator for Kearney and Keya Paha Counties. Jon was one of the first volunteers for the NEGenWeb Project in 1997 and helped to get the project off to a good start. Jon's obituary is available through the Sierra Vista Herald. |
Fredric 'Fritz' Dethlefsen February 9, 1934 - March 18, 2006. County Coordinator for Saline and Wayne Counties beginning in 1997 until he 'retired' in 2004. He took over temporary care of Boyd County in March of 2005 until a new coordinator could be found. Fred was a special member of our project and always took the extra step to help researchers. His dry wit and sense of humor are going to be sorely missed by all of us. SDGenWeb Project has a special Memorial page for Fred. |
Marianne Beel Died July 17, 2007. Marianne was the co-coordinator for Cherry County NEGenWeb for several years and helped many people in their research. She will be missed by all of us. Kaylynn was the first County Coordinator for Hall County beginning in 1997 and was responsible for making it a great site for people researching their ancestors. Twila E. Anderson Aug. 7, 1916 - May 28, 2010. Twila was the first County Coordinator for Cedar County. She was wonderful at helping those who were researching their ancestors in the county. We will miss her in our group. |
Thelma Lee Nation January 18, 1933 - August 28, 2010. Thelma joined our group and took over as County Coordinator for Sioux County in 1998. She soon became part of our family with her wonderful messages full of tales of her life on the ranch. We all looked forward to those messages. I know that she went out of her way to help many people who were researching their ancestors in Sioux County. |
Connie Snyder Mar 22, 1946 - Nov 17, 2018. Connie was the State Coordinator of the NeGenWeb Project for many years. The Project would probably not be what it is today due to her tireless efforts and contributions in concert with our volunteers. |
