Activities: past president of the Ravenna Women's Club and Ravenna Lioness Club; was a Cub Scout leader for several years; volunteered for many years at the nursing home in Ravenna; became a member of the United Methodist Church in Ravenna in 1984, sang in the choir and taught adult Sunday school classes; became an active member of the UMW and served in many offices

Activities: member of Faith United Methodist Church of Gibbon since 1974, served as a trustee; lifetime member of American Legion Post 310; joined the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department in 1950, was instrumental in starting Gibbon's first Rescue Unit in 1954; served on the Gibbon Cemetery and Park Board; was elected mayor of Gibbon in 1962; continued to serve on the Gibbon City Council until 1967; enjoyed keeping score and coaching Little League baseball, was active in Boy Scouts of America; loved camping and started the former Gibbon Buffalo Campers Club in 1985
