was installed on October 2, 1955 and served until July, 1960 when much to the regret of the entire congregation, he answered a call to Spokane, Washington.

Pastor Eugene Vetter was then called and installed February 5, 1961 and is presently serving the congregation. St. John's has, indeed, been blessed with having had faithful, dedicated and able pastors to serve it.

Called male teachers in the Christian Day School who have served are as follows: M. G. Doering, 1886 to 1910; E. D. Keyl, 1910 to 1913; J. H. Brase, 1913 to 1939; Walter Leimer, 1938 to 1943; F. A. Marty, 1939 to 1944; Otto Meyerhoff, 1943 to 1949; O. H. Schnackenburg, 1944 to 1947; W. C. Pozehl, 1948 to 1965 (presently serving the congregation as organist and choir director); Loren Doehrman, 1949 to 1953; Richard Kierstead, 1953 to 1961; Fred Neihold, 1961 to 1964; Donald Kruse, 1965 to the present time. In January, 1967, Melvin Hildebrand was assigned to serve as a teacher. Ladies presently teaching in the school are Mrs. Victor Gronau, Mrs. Elfreda Klein and Mrs. Ronald Fink.

It should be noted that an enrollment of 99 pupils in 1939 and 81 in 1946, has grown to 142 in 1966. This now includes children from St. Peter's Lutheran Church south of town.

A number of boys from this congregation have entered the work of the Church, either as ministers or teachers. To name them: Albert Hoffmann, as a teacher and Rev. Victor Hoffman, both sons of Pastor and Mrs. Hoffmann; Rev. Otto H. Keyl, son of Teacher and Mrs. E. D. Keyl and son-in-law of Pastor J. Hoffmann; Rudolph, Otto, Ed and Albert Mantey, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mantey, all teachers; Alfred Doering, son of Mr. and Mrs.
