St. Therese Cemetery
(Little Flower of Jesus)
Pohocco Township, Saunders County, NE

History: This cemetery was originally associated with "Church of The Seven Dolors" or Estina Catholic Church. In 1924, it burned, and when a new church was built the following year, it was named "The Church of the Little Flower of Jesus". The new church burned in 1960 and all that remains today is the cemetery and it is known as St. Therese Cemetery (Little Flower of Jesus).

Location: Starting south of Fremont, NE at the junction of highway 77 and 109: travel south on 77 for 4 miles. Take a left at County Rd. 11, over a green bridge and continue for 1 mile. The cemetery is on the corner of County Rd. 11 and T2300 on the right side of the road. As you travel down the county road you come to the top of a hill. You can see the cemetery from the top of this hill. It is quite a site. It has a fence around it and is a lovely setting with large cedar trees.

Cemetery map

This is a complete reading of the cemetery, walked and recorded Dec. 8, 2001 and walked and proof read Dec. 11, 2001 by Charlotte Bromley Croshaw. This is a small, (95 graves), well maintained, active cemetery. All of the stones are readable at this time. (CharFive@aol.com)

There is a statue of the Virgin Mary with this inscription: "Church Sites - St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus, 1925 - 1960 - Our Lady of Sorrows, 1888 - 1924".
