First recollections of Ashland, Nebraska.

About 6 months previous in Grafton, Nebr.
Wiggeleares property
Jim Snell house- flour mill on Salt Creek and Aunt Sue Snell (Miles or Myles).
School in Ashland – Miss Vastine, Miss Davis.
Homes on the Hill – Hartford, Wilson, Fales, Von Mansfield, Palmer – Lielious Beal 8th grade teacher whose family home on Salt Cr. Boelous which flooded out in Spring Floods. P Smith, bro of Jim on Salt Creek – drowned in flood. Church (E) would have rummage sales after those floods, give & sell to the distressed people.
Art Exhibit – on 9th birthday - 9 picture prints.
Mrs. H had booth in some affair with a bunch of children fixed up as Italians or Dagios, as they called them there.
Moved to little house surrounded by Maple trees next to Dr. Meredith's office & Mr. Groves Carpentry Shop. Camp out under the Maples – night clothes parade about [illegible] as Dr. Meredith was returning from a call. Going to Christian Church & full baptism [immersion 1st time] of girl who worked for Mrs. Jim Snell.
Selling candy during Lent for Mite box – "to Jessie Laverty, Mrs. Norria Waltermire & Ida duBois Reasoner, Mansfelde sisters – Doty, Belle, Joe and Alice & Mrs. Canes & Fales.
Coffee time with Doty Belle, Joe & Alice & the Jap lacquered boxes of peanuts. The fish pond. Music lesions at age of 7 – one recital at ME Church.
Remembrance of few children in school but –
