At Rushville, Saturday, May 21, 1898, Mr. Ben Abell to Miss Addie Rucker. They have gone to Hewitt & Morey's ranch where both have places to work. Their friends in Gordon wish them a happy and prosperous voyage o'er life's tempestuous sea.

John Mosena (m. 1899) Laura Horner
At the office of the County Judge in Rushville, Wednedsay, April 26, 1899, Mr. John Mosena to Miss Laura Horner. Both the bride and groom are worthy young people of this community, where they have resided for many years. They will make their home at Morey & Hewett's ranch, where the goom has a steady job.

Married. Miss Anna Saults to Mr. Harry Wolf, May 1st, 1902. Word was received in Gordon, May 3rd, announcing this union. Miss Saults is one of the popular young ladies of this vicinity, her parents residing on a ranch about fifty miles from Gordon. Mr. Wolf is employed in Missouri as a telegraph operator, in which state the happy couple will make their future home. The Journal joins friends in extending congratulations.

Married: Sunday, April 13, 1902, at the home of the bride's parents, ten miles southeast of Merriman, Mr. Chas. A. Stratton to Miss Goldie V. McNamee, Rev. B. Hunt officiating. The groom is the son R.W. Stratton of this place and the bride is a daughter of Geo. McNamee. The Journal expresses the wish that everything that goes to make marriage a success may be found coming in the way of this worthy young couple.

A Home Wedding. On Sabbath afternoon, April 20th, at 1:30, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Winship, Miss Geneva Bresee and Mr. Anson R. McDowell were united in marriage by their pastor, Rev. Jas. G. Clark. The bride's dress was a beautiful pearl crepe de chene, with trimmings of silk appliqué and ribbon of the same shade. The bridal bouquet was composed of roses and carnations. Miss Lizzie McDowell, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid, and Fred Hoyt was groomsman. There were present to witness the ceremony, the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson Winship, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. McDowell, parents of the groom, Miss Lizzie McDowell, Mr. Fred Hoyt and Mrs. James G. Clark. After the ceremony and congratulations, a most bountiful repast was served. The bride is one of Gordon's most popular and accomplished young ladies, who possesses business qualities, as well as social charms, that have made her a success. Bright, intelligent, and energetic, she has developed from a sales lady in a ladies dry goods store, to the position of sole owner of one of the largest dry goodstores, and were united in marriage. The bride graduated from the Gordon high school in the class of 1925. Later she attended the Normal school in Menominee, Michigan, and taught school there the next year. Mr. Webber is a ranchman and he and his wife will make their home near Merriman. They start life with the best wishes of a host of friends.

On last Sunday we noticed Attorney O'Rourk securing the services of Judge Sailor, and later learned that a quiet wedding had taken place in the former's office in Gordon. The happy couple were Anthony Stirk and Miss Emma Davidson. Both are accomplished young people, being born on the reservation and both are graduates of eastern colleges. Mr. Stirk is a son of Richard Stirk of Manderson, South Dakota, one of the well-to-do men of that part of the country. May they always be happy is our wish.

Miss Zilpha Baker of Eustis, Nebraska, and Mr. C. Bryan Metzger of Merriman were married on September 17th. Both the bride and groom are graduates of the University of Nebraska, class of 1924, and the marriage is the outcome of an acquaintance started there. After an auto trip which takes them to the Black Hills, they will be at home on the M.O. Metzger ranch northwest of Merriman.

Mr. Logan Talbot and Miss Leona Lahaye were married in Hot Springs, S.D. on Tuesday, September 25, the marriage taking place at half past seven o'clock at the home of Reverend Lord. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Paul King. Mr. Talbot is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Talbot of Rushville and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lahaye. She is a graduate of the Rushville high school in the class of 1928. Both are popular members of the younger set of their community.

Miss Viola Rash and Leo J. Sharp, both of Chadron, last week announced their wedding, which occurred at Hot Springs, S.D., on July 12, 1928. Mrs. Sharp is a daughter of Mrs. Clara Rash of Gordon. She is well and favorably known both here and in Chadron, having been employed in Chadron for a number of years. She was in the office of the Dawes County agent for over a year before taking up her duties on the clerical force at the First National Bank. Mr. Sharp is the son of Mrs. Mary Sharp, of Chadron, and has been employed in the Nichols Grocery Store for several years.

Mrs. Grace Hughes and Mr. T. C. Lewis, both of Gordon, were united in marriage Friday, August 31, at Sidney, Nebraska. Mrs. Lewis is well known to the people of this community, where she has made her home. She has proven herself a splendid woman and home-maker and has the respect of all with whom she comes in contact. Mr. Lewis came to Gordon about a year ago and has made a place for himself in the business world, and bears an excellent reputation. His genial ways have won for him many friends. This fine couple are deserving of the happiness which has come into their lives and have the best wishes of a legion of friends.

Relatives here have received the announcement of the marriage of Mr. Eric Martin and Miss Mae Gleason at Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 18, 1928. Eric is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Johnson. He graduated from Denver University in 1927 and spent a part of last year in Europe. Going to Tulsa, he was employed by an oil company and there met his wife.

Miss Oma Monk of Denver and Mr. Delbert Parker of this place were united in marriage in Alliance on September first. The bride is the sister of Mr. Ed Tice and spent the summer here. She has made many friends here and is a woman of charming personality. Mr. Parker is an enterprizing farmer and land owner who lives southeast of Gordon. A large circle of friends extend their best wishes.

Miss Ruth Grant of Crawford and Mr. Henry Thebault of Gordon, were married in Martin, S.D. Sept. 3, 1928. They are at home at the Merchants Hotel, as Mr. Thebault is an employee there. On Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Decker were host and hostess at a wedding dinner for them and also Mr. and Mrs. James Boyle Jr., who were married on that day. Mr. Boyle was also an employee at the hotel.

Miss Lucille Anthens and Mr. James Boyle Jr., were married at Martin, S.D. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 1928. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ross Thompson and has grown to womanhood here. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Boyle, Sr. and has been operating the laundry at the Merchants Hotel. They left on a honeymoon trip to Canada on Monday, accompanying Mr. and Mrs. James Boyle Sr. on a visit with relatives there.
