Mrs. Sarah Edwards

Mrs. Sarah Edwards was born in Shelby county, Kentucky April 22, 1815. She died February 3, 1900, aged 84 years, 9 months, and 11 days. Her maiden name was Anderson and she was married to Henry Edwards on March 16, 1834. As a result of this union 10 children were born to them. Three sons and two daughters survive her. One of the surviving children lives in Illinois, one in Missouri, one in Arkansas, and two sons, Thomas and George, live near this place.
Catharine Enslow
CATHARINE "Kit" (Howard) ENSLOW: Born June 11th, 1847, Washburn, Woodford County, Ill. United with Baptist Church at the age of 12 years. Moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Tilton Howard, to Fairbury, Ill. in the fall of 1864. United in marriage to J. H. Enslow Nov. 26th, 1866. Moved to Alexandria, Nebr. in 1876, where she has lived until her death. Died Sunday afternoon, February 2nd. Leaving husband and six children; three children preceded her in death.
Funeral services conducted at Baptist Church on the Tuesday following her death by Rev. H. Berkley of Ohiowa. At the grave the Womans Relief Corps of which she had been an active member held the usual yet impressive services of the order.

John T. Enslow
JOHN T. ENSLOW: Died in Kansas City, Thursday evening, Jan. 26th, 1899. Laid to rest in the Alexandria cemetery Sunday afternoon Jan. 29th, 1899. Formerly in life insurance business in Lincoln, Neb., being connected with the Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. On May 10th, 1898, he enlisted in Company D of the First Neb. regiment and with it went to Manila. He participated in all the skirmishes and expeditions before Manila, July 26th, August 2nd, and August 6th, 1898, and in the capture of Manila August 13th, 1898. Shortly afterwards he became ill and was discharged Dec. 12th, 1898. He took the southern route for home and arrived at Kansas City on Wednesday, Jan. 25th, 1899, and expired the following day.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. M. Sturdevant.

Wm. Erwin

Wm. Erwin was born May 5th, 1847 in Janesville, Ohio, and died Wednesday, Feb 17th, at 12:30 a m, of old age, at his home in Gilead, Neb. Mr. Erwin had been in very poor health for several years, but only for the past four weeks has he been confined to his bed. Mr. Erwin came to this state over twenty-five years ago and has since made it his home. He is survived by a wife, two sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church at Gilead, conducted by Rev. Humphrey of Alexandria.
