Looking for information about Curtis R. Young (born 2 JUN 1836 Columbia Crossroads, Pennsylvania) who lived in Hampton from about 1880 to 1889. He was married to Eunice (Dingman) Young and had two children, Orpha (born 11 FEB 1881) and George (born May 14, 1884), while living in Hampton. He may have built the first dwelling house in Hampton around 1880 and ran a grocery store.

I am seeking any information on W.H. Porter, born about 1850 who married Jennie Opdyke on 25 Nov. 1880 in or near Aurora, Hamilton Co., NE. He was born in Michigan and she was born in PA. Jennie was actually Phoebe Jane "Jennie" Gressley and married to Leonard Kimball about 1862-1863 possibly in IL. After his death she married a Mr. Opdyke and then W.H. Porter. When her father died in 1894 she was shown on the estate papers as Jennie Porter and living in Marinette Co., Wisconsin. Any information on W.H. Porter and wife Jennie, would be appreciated.

My Grandfather; Joseph Marshall Ward, homesteaded in Hamilton Co. near Aurora in or about 1872. In his diaries of the time he writes of drilling wells for his neighbors. In as much as he had no horses or oxen at the time I am attempting to discover how these wells were drilled. He also mentions putting tubes in the wells after they were drilled. Can you tell me where I can learn more about drilling water wells in that area at that time? Geore A. Ward; 985 N. Broadway, # 50; DePere, Wi. 54115. Thank You for your help.
