Verlyn Eugene Railsback

Verlyn Eugene Railsback, 44, 312 W 5th, Ogallala, NE died Thursday, October 31, 1985 in the Ogallala hospital.

He was born June 17, 1941 at Norton, Co., KS to John Lloyd Railsback and Leona "Palmer" Railsback.

The family moved to Lebanon, NE in 1943 and to Ogallala in 1949. He was preceded by death by his father John Lloyd; brothers, Lloyd Earl, (Sonny), Donald Wayne and Harry Lee.

Survivors include his mother, Leona Railsback of Ogallala; three brothers, Merl of Torrance, CA, Franklin Dee of Palmetto, Fl, Loren of Peoria, AZ; six sisters, Ila McIntosh, Maxine BRown, Imogene Davison all of Ogallala, Dorothy Coler of Keystone, Mavis Ohlson of Bartley, NE and Katherine Breener of Tucson, AZ and other relatives.

Services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. on November 4th, 1985 at the Gubser Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L. M. Lewis of the Church of God officiating. Burial was in the Ogallala Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at the Parks Development Center in Ogallala.

Leona C. Railsback

OGALLALA -- Leona C. Railsback died Monday (May 18, 1987) at an Ogallala nursing home at the age of 88. She was born Nov 29, 1898 in Furnas County to Edward and Sarah Palmer.

She attended schools in Furnas County. She was married May 4, 1918 in Beaver City to John Railsback. They moved to Ogallala in 1949 and her [sic] preceded her in death May 6, 1969.

Survivors include three sons, Merl of Torrance, Calif., Franklin of Zephyrhills, Fla., Loren of Peoria, Ariz.; six daughters, Ila McIntosh, Maxine Brown, Imogene Davison, all of Ogallala, Dorothy Coler of Keystone, Mavis Ohlson of Bartley, Katherine Brunner of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Iva Alley of Cambridge; 34 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Gubser Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L.M. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name and can be left at the funeral home. Gubser Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of the arrangements."





Donald Wayne Railsback

Donald Wayne Railsback, son of Lloyd and Leona Railsback, was born in Norton County, Kansas, on February 1, 1932, and passed away on June 11, 1956, at Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 24 years, 4 months and 10 days. He moved with his parents to Lebanon, Nebraska, in 1943 where he attended school until the family moved to Ogallala in May, 1949.

On September 9, 1949, Donald enlisted in the U. S. Air Force where he served for four and one-half years and received a medical discharge on April 14, 1954.

He was married to Mildred Keith of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, on September 4, 1954. They moved to Milford, Nebraska in November, 1954, where Don attended Trades School until January, 1956. He worked at the Lincoln AF Base as a civilian employee.

He leaves to mourn his sudden passing his wife Mildred, his father and mother, six sisters and four brothers; Mrs. Ila McIntosh, Pedro Valey, Calif.; Mrs. Dorothy Coler, Ogallala; Mrs. Mavis Ohlsin, Lebanon; Mrs. Maxine Brown, Ogallala; Mrs. Imogene Davison, Ogallala; Mrs. Kathryn Brunner, Altus, Okla.; Merl Railsback, Grover, Colorado; S-Sgt. Franklin Dee Railsback, stationed in England; Loren at the home, and Verlyn Railsback, Beatrice; as well as mnay more relatives and a wide circle of friends in Lebanon, Ogallala, Milford, Lincoln and buddies in the Air Force who are sadly grieved at his untimely passing.

Donald was a member of the Baptist church in Lincoln and attended church regularly. Funeral services were held at the Bracken Memorial Chapel Friday, June 15, at 10 A.M. wiht the Rev. Harold Powell officiating. Mrs. Troy Still sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Sometime we'll understand", accompanied by Mrs. Herman Eggers at the organ.

Casket bearers were Ralph Helt, Freeman Gay, Walter Railsback, Dean Springer, William Kettering, Dean Railsback. Military graveside services were conducted wiht the V.F.W. Post No. 3755 in charge. Ingerment [sic] was made in Ogallala cemetery."





Ila Leona Railsback McIntosh

Memorial services were held at the funeral chapel in Ogallala on Tuesday, November 7th, 1995 for 75 year old Ila Leona Railsback McIntosh.

Ila was born on November 15th, 1919 at Wilsonville, the oldest daughter of John (Loyd) and Leona (Ona) Palmer Railsback. She spent her childhood just across the stateline in Kansas south of Wilsonville where she attended Hudsonpillar School. She was baptized in the Wilsonville Christian Church. As a young woman in war times she moved to Ogallala where she was employed at the Good-All Electric for 7 years. She made her home in California for the next 25 years.

She was married to William McIntosh in 1953 at Reno, Nevada. To this union was born three sons. They returned to Ogallala to make their home in 1973, where she was employed until her retirement in 1986.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband in 1975 and by four brothers Earl, Harry, Donald and Verlyn. Survivors include her three sons Paul of Ogallala, George and wife, Kathy and their three children of Comstock, NE and Robert of Scottsbluff; five sisters Dorothy and Perry Coler, Maxine and Glen Brown, Imogene and Clarence Davidson [sic] all of Ogallala, Mavis Ohlson of Bartley and Katherine and Curtis Brunner of Tucson, AZ; and three brothers Merle [sic] and Roxie of Torrence, [sic] CA; Frank and Patricia of Tampa, FL; and Loren and Pauline of Peoria, AZ.

Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Palmer and Tim were joined by Mrs. Ed Ruf, Ila Potter of Cambridge and Jerry Potter of Beaver City to go to Ogallala to attend the funeral services for Ila McIntosh, a cousin."





Robert McIntosh rites slated

Gering -- Former Ogallala resident Robert Shawn McIntosh, 44, of Gering, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Beverly Health Care Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Michael Mead officiating. Interment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Aug. 8, 1959, in Pacifica, Calif., the son of William and Ila (Railsback) McIntosh.

He moved to Ogallala with his family in 1973 where he completed his education. In 1991, Robert joined Cirrus House in Scottsbluff where he reamined active until the time of his death.

Survivors include two brothers, Paul McIntosh of Ogallala, and George McIntosh of Comstock.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will be closed prior to the service on Thursday.

A Memorial has been established to the donor's choice.

The Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home of Scottsbluff is in charge of the arrangements."
