Some of the prominent workers in the church at that time were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moyer, Asahel Andrus, Carrie Gibbs, Sadie Ressel, Nellie Ressel, Nellie Morton, Dan Hormon, Mrs. Tom Ressel, James Rawlings and Charles Hammit.

The church passed through several years of prosperity followed by a few years when times were not contributive to growth. In 1894 the church shared with the rest of the country the disasters and discouragements of the times which included panics, riots, strikes, drought and crop failures. by 1899 many of the church members had moved away but a revival in the winter boosted membership.

In 1900 with J. W. Seabrook as pastor the Ceresco and Davey Methodist Churches were united by mutual consent, the debt on the Ceresco church was paid and the building was painted. The first parsonage was completed in 1902 by Milton and Will Lowell. Rev. A. S. Buell and his wife were the first occupants. Mrs. Rose Loder served as the first president of the Ladies Aid Society.

Excavation beneath the building and installation of a furnace was completed in 1911 and a basement and pastor's study were added in 1921. In 1924 the Official Board voted to add a Chancel and classrooms at a cost of $2000. Around 1939 a merger of Methodist churches occurred and "Episcopal" was dropped from the name. Also, the Woman's Society of Christian Service replaced the Ladies Aid Society.

A home was purchased in 1943 to become the new parsonage. It cost $2700. In 1946 the basement was enlarged and remodeled and a new furnace installed at a cost of $3600. Memorial stained glass windows were added between 1956 and 1960. A new building was consecrated on April 30, 1967. Evangical United Brethren and Methodist churches merges in 1968 to form the United Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Leypoldt serves as pastor at the present time.

Walin and P. W. Pearson circulated a petition which received 21 members' singatures asking for the separation.

The Swedeburg congrgation granted the petition on January 15, 1919 and transferred the Ceresco church property to the new church congregation. On the Next day Immanuel Luthenan Church was organized. Seventy-three charter members and 45 children were recorded at the new church. P. A. Almquist, A. G. Brodd and A. Walin were elected deacons and Otto Landstrom, C. L. Walin and C. H. Brodd became trustees. A Ladies Aid, called Dorcas, was organized with dues of one dollar per month.
