Berton Imus, 1873-1931
Berton Imus Dies of Heart Failure -- Berton Imus, a resident of Nance County for forty years, passed away suddenly at his home about 15 miles east of Wolbach, Wednesday, November 25th. Funeral services attended by an exceptionally large number of friends and relatives, conducted by Dr. R. A. White, were held in Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach on Friday, November 27th at 2:30 p.m. and the remains were laid to rest in Hillside cemetery. Berton Imus was born at Sydney, Iowa, July 3, 1873 and died at his home in Nance County, Nebraska Nov. 25, 1931 aged 58 years, 4 months and 22 days. He died very suddenly on account of heart failure. At the age of eleven he emigrated with his parents to Wheeler County, Nebraska living there until he was eighteen and then came to Nance County where he resided until his death. At the age of twenty four years, he was married to Clara Eisenhauer, February 8, 1898 at Fullerton, Nebraska. To this union were born ten children: seven daughters and three sons, all of whom are living. Those who are left to mourn his death are his beloved wife and children, Mrs. Ethel Ceder, Clarence, Clyde, Mrs. Lillian Kershaw, Lloyd, Mrs. Grace Anderson, Hazel, Clara, Alberta and Vivian, and eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Claridge of Zurich, Montana, Mrs. Jack Eisenhauer, Mrs. John Berney and Mrs. Pete Berney of Wolbach, Nebraska; and 3 brothers, Charley of Caldwell, Idaho, Leslie of Gering, Nebraska, and William of Kalama, Washington. The family being well known in this community have the profound sympathy of all.

Giles Leslie Imus, 1869-1931
Giles Leslie Imus Is Laid To Rest – Funeral services conducted by Dr. R. A. White were held at Trinity Lutheran church in Wolbach, Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. for Leslie Imus, who died at Scottsbluff on Christmas day. The remains were laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery. Mr. Imus was known by many in this community, being a brother of the late Burt Imus who passed away a few weeks ago. The body arrived here Tuesday evening on the Burlington motor. Giles Leslie Imus was born at Sidney, Iowa, February 17, 1869, and passed away December 25, 1931 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska, aged 62 years 10 months and 8 days. He came to Nebraska with his parents at the age of 15. During the past 22 years he has lived near Bayard, Nebraska. He was a member of the Christian Church of Lyman, Nebr. He was married July 4, 1891 to Miss Mary Horn. To this union twelve children were born, three dying in infancy. Those left to mourn his death beside his wife, are Mrs. Jessie Lee, Port Orchard, Washington; Mrs. Gertrude Hanna, Bayard, Nebraska; Dewey Imus, Tracy Calif; Chauncey Imus, Lyman, Nebr; Mrs. Elva Lackey, Scottsbluff, Nebr; Ralph, Dorman and Lavina Imus, and several grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, William Imus, Kalama, Washington; Charles Imus, Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs. Jack Eisenhauer, Mrs. Pete Berney, and Mrs. John Berney, Wolbach, Nebraska; Mrs. Hattie Claridge, Zurich, Montana, and a host of friends. The surviving relatives have the sympathy of the community.

William Irkfritz, 1916
Wm Irkfritz Dead – Mrs. Wm. Irkfritz of Racine, Wis., advises us that Wm. Irkfritz died last Wednesday from a fall of 97 feet while at work as a millwright. He was a man beloved by all who knew him and left a host of friends besides a wife and 3 children, one boy 16 and two girls, 13 and 3 years old. Also a father, Wm. Irkfritz, formerly of Wolbach, but now living in Chicago, one brother and three sisters. The high esteem in which he was held was manifested by the many beautiful floral offerings from the many friends. He was married to Miss May Spalding in 1899, who was born and grew to womanhood in the town of Delton, Wis. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were C. H. Spaulding, of Albion, Nebr., Mrs. Emma Harrisson, mother of Mrs. Irkfritz, and two sisters, Mrs. E. E. DuBoise and Mrs. L. E. Edwards of Baraboo, Wis. The funeral was held from the home at 1826 La Crosse Ave, Saturday, August 12, 1916. Interment was made in the Elmwood cemetery.

Francis Margaret (Stott) Ivey, 1874-1934
Funeral Rites Held For Mrs. F. M. Ivey – Largely attended funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. F. M. Ivey who passed away at the family home twelve miles east of Wolbach Friday afternoon. The services which were held at 3:30 o’clock in the Methodist church at Palmer were conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. A. Napier assisted by Rev. H. Kramer of North Star. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery at that place. OBITUARY – Francis Margaret Stott was born July 1, 1874 at Chase City, Virginia and died October 12, 1934 at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 12 days. She was the youngest of nine children born to George and Agusta Stott. At the age of twelve years she moved with the family to Lebanon, Mo. Where on February 26, 1895 she was united in marriage to Francis Marion Ivey. To this union eight children were born, four sons and four daughters, namely: Mrs. Lois Davison and Phipps Ivey, of Fullerton, Mrs. Elizabeth Rice of Palmer and Ralph, Helen, Alma, Wallace and Keith at home. In the spring of 1912 the family moved from Mo. to Fullerton, Neb. Later the same year moving to the farm which has been the family home continuously since that time. Mrs. Ivey was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor. At an early age at Lebanon, Mo. She became a member of the Congregational Church and has always lived a true Christian life. Besides her sorrowing husband and children she is survived by seven grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph Stott, of Arnold, and James of Wolbach; one sister, Mrs. C. M. Ivey of Rocky Ford, Colo, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents and five brothers and sisters preceded her in death. The heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones. Francis Marion "Frank" Ivey, 1871-1947
Frank Ivey Last Rites Held at Palmer Sunday -- Funeral services were held for Francis Marion Ivey (better known as Frank) Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock in the Methodist Church at Palmer. Rev. Nathan Thomas of Fullerton and Rev. W. C. George of Palmer officiated at the last rites. Burial was in the cemetery at Palmer. Francis Marion Ivey was born April 7, 1871 at Lebanon, Missouri and passed away at his home near Palmer, June 6, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 1 day. He was united in marriage to Miss Frances Margaret Stott, February 28, 1896. To this union were born eight children. He moved to Nebraska 35 years ago with his family and lived on the same farm where he died, with the exception of several months he lived in Fullerton. Surviving are his seven children Phipps Ivey of Fullerton, Mrs. Elizabeth Rice of Palmer; Ralph, Helen, Alma, Wallace and Keith at home, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter Mrs. Lois Davison. Mr. Ivey was well known here. He had been in Wolbach a few days prior to his death.
