The body of Private George Williamson, son of J C Williamson, of Atkinson was removed from the military burying grounds at Ft Robinson, Tues and re interred at Woodlawn Cem. He died May 31,1917 of spinal menigetis. His name appears in our record as the first Holt County soldier in the present war to die in the service of his country.

Memorial service of John W Farley, a well known Atkinson boy who died and was buried at sea, will be held at the Miller Opera House Sunday afternoon at 2:30. The word of the death of John W Farley was received here Monday by a telegram to his mother, Mrs Mary Farley, as having occurred on board ship from pneumonia. He enlisted in the U S Navy almost a year ago.
