The Ceresco Concert Band in about 1922 included, back, Elmer Peterson, Herbert Halberg, Carl Hagestrom, Earl Nelson, Art Walin, Fred Mostrom, and, middle, Jesse Beaman, Louis Staneslau, Elmer Pearson, Dan Brox, Ralph Gross, Phil Nelson, Al Lundstrom, Herman Knudsen, Gus Johnson and, front, Hilding Lundstrom, Irvin Pearson, Frank Hughes, Herman Pearson, Alfred Nelson, Lawrence Rudeen, Arvid Erickson, Phil Mostrom, Sam Gross. Trans-Nebraska Transfer, Terry Miller owner; previously Nilson Transfer until 1963, and Miller Transfer. Country-City Homebuilders, housing development contractors established in 1973 by Don MIller who came to Ceresco in 1961 and purchased Nilson Transfer In 1963. Since 1940 the town's population has increased from 342 to 514. From 1938 to 1968 approximately 45 new homes, six mobile homes and two apartment houses were added to town. At least 70 new homes have been built in the last three years and more than half that many are expected to be added within the next few years when the First Addition to Westridge Knolls is completed. By 1980 it is estimated 725 persons will make their home in Ceresco. Serving the needs of horses and buggies in early Ceresco was this livery and feed barn. This structure houses the Immanuel Lutheran Church which had its beginnings in 1876. |
