Pioneer Stories of the Pioneers of Fillmore and Adjoining Counties
by Reverend G. R. McKeith of Exeter, Nebraska- donated for look-ups by
Mary R. Grace. The pioneer sketches were collected for the
Pioneers' Memorial Day celebrated on June 14, 1914.

Mr. and Mrs. James Alexander came to Nebraska from Aberdeen,
Scotland on June 22, 1872.
John H. Anderson arrived in York County, Nebraska in
February 1865.
John Spencer Anderson, father of John H. Anderson. Arrived
in York County in February 1865.
Colonel N. S. Babcock from New York state, who arrived in 1871.
Mr. William N. Babcock and Mrs. M. E. Babcock arrived in fall of
1870.
Dr. O. P. Baker came to Nebraska from Morrison, Illinois.
Mr. and Mrs. John K. Barber arrived in Fillmore County October 14,
1870. They were from Woodstock, Illinois.
John S. Beardsley was a native of Ohio and settled in Nebraska in
April 1870.
John T. Borland, arrived May 12, 1871. He was from Illinois.
Thomas Coates was a native of Yorkshire, England.
James W. Dolan came to Nebraska from Corning, Adams, Iowa on
February 1, 1871.
William Downey, a native of New York went to Michigan and then
settled in Nebraska in May 1871.
William Dyer was born in Hambridge, Somersetshire, England.
Charles and Henry Eberstein, a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan
settled in Omaha in 1867.
T. B. Farmer from Indiana, arrived October 1870.
John E. Fouse, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. and Mrs. Goodall arrived in Saline County, Nebraska in 1871
from Iowa.
W. B. Graul came to Nebraska from Pennsylvania and arrived in
Milford on April 1, 1871.
Henry Hammond, a native of Indiana arrived in Nebraska in fall of
1870.
Job Hathaway from Greenwood, Illinois arrived in spring of
1871. Traveled with Willard Payne and Elma Wilcox.
Charles Hole, a native of West Pennard, near Glasonbury,
Somersetshire, England, arrived in April 1872.
James Horne, a native of Low Coats, Lankarkshire, Scotland;
settled in Nebraska in 1870.
Jonathan A. Horton, a native of Pennsylvania, arrived on November
23, 1870.
Walter Howarth, a native of Bolton, Lancashire, England, arrived
on April 1, 1872.
Christian Kobe, a native of Bremen, Germany, arrived in Nebraska
in 1870.
William McGhie, a native of Aberdeen, Scotland and settled in
Nebraska in 1878.
L. T. Mead, a native of Fort Branch, Gibson, Indiana came to
Nebraska in March 1870.
W. H. Miner came from Illinois in 1870.
Patrick Murphy, a native of Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland.
James Nolan settled in Fillmore County in June 187.
Thomas Nugent from County Galway, Ireland and settled in Fillmore
County in 1871.
Mr. and Mrs. Parsons
Charles N. Phillips and wife, from Pennsylvania arrived in 1871.
William Ramsdell was a native of Michigan and first came to
Nebraska in 1865.
John Redfern came to America with his parents from England and
settled in Nebraska in 1870.
Alonzo and Palmer Rice from New York state arrived on July
30, 1870.
Mrs. M. L. Roper arrived with her husband in Nebraska in 1873.
Leonard Bradley Sage came to Nebraska from Waukisha, Wisconsin in
November 1871.
Philip Schwab, a native of New York arrived from Michigan in 1871.
Dr. and Mrs. H. G. Smith, who homesteaded in 1870. They were
from Allegan, Michigan.
Chester C. Stephens, a native of Pennsylvania came to Nebraska
from Michigan in 1871.
W. J. Waites arrived in Nebraska in 1871.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Woodworth, from Wisconsin arrived in Nebraska
in 1872.
John Ziska, a native of Bohemia, moved to Nebraska in 1869.
