I am interested in Names that are related to William CANNON. Homesteaded in Custer County in the early 1880s. I would be interested in HOBBS, POWELL and HOGUE names as well. William Cannon may have homesteaded with his brother Samuel Cannon and sister's family Mary Cannon GIBSON, husband's name was Minor Gibson.

I am looking for any information on the Grahams and Gandys of Broken Bow, Custer Co. My grandmother Gladys Graham was born June 20, 1890 to William L. Graham and Bertha Gandy. Gladys Graham Barton's death certificate states that her parents were born in Troy, Iowa. This is the only information I have on William L. Graham and Bertha Gandy. I would appreciate any additional information. Thanks.

HIGBEE/HIGBE/HIGBEY and CURRAH. Looking for any information on family of John and Mahala (TETER) HIGBEE. Family records indicate that Mahala died in Nebraska in 1889. Family originally from Hamilton County, Indiana. With the family in their move to Nebraska was a niece, Catherine "Kate" TETER. She married James R. CURRAH about 1888. They had four children, and at least one was born in Broken Bow, NE. I am just beginning the search for this family so any information would be most helpful.

Henrietta had several siblings including Oscar, Agustas (Gus) and Hattie. Allen and Henrietta had several children including Olive, Margerite and Arthur Allen who was born in 1920. In 1923 they took a wagon train to Boise Idaho. I would like to find any information on any of these ancestors.

Luke LAVENDER, I'm told by his grand-daughter Jessie, was the first probate judge in the Nebraska territory. He owned a brickyard where the Capitol building in Lincoln now stands. He emigrated from England; his wife's name was Julia A.; he's listed as a "farmer {or} rancher" in Custer Co., 1886; and he had two sons, Alford and Alvin Joseph LAVENDER. He died of the black fever on a river exploration. Towns Jessie mentioned: Broken Bow and Lincoln, NE and Pine Bluffs, WY. Luke's son Alford and his wife, Della Mae Nees, had three children: Joseph Alvin, b.18 Apr 1905, Jessie and George. I'd like to know Luke Lavender's parents' names; Julia A. Lavender's maiden name and/or parents' names, dates of birth and death for Luke and Julia, and from which section of England Luke emigrated. (I know: I'm asking a lot!) Thanks for reading and good luck on YOUR searches! Tracey Winbigler
