I am looking for a marriage record for George M. Smith and Nellie Reynolds. I was told they were married in Broken Bow, Nebraska but when I called they were unable to find any such record. Is there a volunteer who could check to see if there is such a marriage record for these two people? They were married June 6, 1888 in Broken Bow, Nebraska. I need to purchase a copy of this and just not sure where to find it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

se families. I have George Bishop that was first in Pickaway County, Ohio. George Bishop was born on December 13, 1823 at Pickaway County,(near Sandusky?) Ohio. When a boy he moved with his parents to Lafayette, Indiana, where: "Bishop, George - Service: Mexican War, Private, 5th Regiment, Company C, Fountain County. Mustered in 11 Oct 1847, at Madison, Indiana, by Lieutenant Rodman, mustered out 28 Jul 1848, at Madison, Indiana, by Major H. A. Goff. Source is Indiana in the Mexican War, Oran Perry, 1908. Then George Bishop married Rachel Skeels (her second marriage; 3 Dec 1849 in Putnam Co., IN). Rachel had a son Truman Skeels who was 10 yrs in the 1850 Iroquois Co., IL census. I have heard from others her maiden name was BROCK. Rachel was dead by 1860. They had a son, Charles who was born in 1858 who I'd like to know more about. Does anyone know anything about this couple? George married Mary Esabella Cady in Iroquois County, ILL. I have their marriage date as January 13, 1959. According to his obituary, the couple left Illinois and ended up in Custer County, NE. This is what it says: They moved to Iroquois County, Illinois, where he enlisted in the Civil War in August, 1862, in Company D, Vol. Inf. 113th Regt., and was discharged on June 20, 1865 at Memphis, Tennessee. In 1880, they (George, Mary and family) came from Illinois to Broken Bow, Nebraska, where he long has farmed. The obituary says nothing of Truman Skeels. It lists son of Rachel and George, Charles, living in Colwich(?), Kansas. I'd like to find living family from these lines. Daughter of George and Mary Bishop was my line, Nora Ida Bishop Hastings. Daughter of John and Nora Hastings, Mary Hastings married Wyatt Jesse Adkins. I am looking for anyone in these families. Any help, guidance or advice would be appreciated. Have a great day.

John Fredling and Christina Olson (wifes Great Gramdparents) married in Sweden and came to this country. They settled in Nebraska somewhere near Tallin Table. They were supposed to have had a Timber Claim of 160 acres and a homestead of the same size. They had at least 7 children Jonas Crispin fredling was my wifes Grandfather I don't find them in the homestead listing on this site. Is it possible the listing is not complete or maybe they were in Dawson county closer to Gothenburg?

I am looking for info on my ggrandmother, Lottie Mae Jenkins Marlatt Chappell. I know only a birthdate of May 28, 1886 born in Custer County, Nebraska. Think mother's maiden name was Carrico, have no first name. Lottie married Burt Marlatt, remarried and last name was Chappell at time of death in Southern California. She had a daughter named Mable Mae Marlatt Damon (my grandma). I have no other background on Lottie, only her father's name of Monroe Jenkins. If anyone has any information they could share with me, I sure would appreciate it. Can email me at dgoulet@urx.com. Thanks, Pat Goulet

I am searching for any information on the Sockler family during 1860-to the present. On your website under farmers in the 1890 census of farmers in the community of Merna in Custer co., I found the name of J.M. Sockler. My grandfather was born in Pekin, Illinois in 1863. His father was John Sockler, wife Rosa Stark, born in Wurtemberg, Germany. Would anyone know anything or have any record of this person J. M. Sockler?

My great-grandmother Elcy Ann HUNTER and husband, James PORTLOCK and her brother James Franklin HUNTER and wife Laura RUSCO, lived in Mason City, Custer Co. or Litchfield, Sherman Co. during the early 1890's. Elcy Ann and James had a son Jesse Jasper born in Litchfield in November 1889. She died in the spring of 1890 and was buried beside her daughter Malinda in the Weaver Cemetery located on Hwy. 2 on the county line of Custer and Sherman. James Franklin and his wife raised Jesse Jasper after Elcy Ann's death. I would like to correspond with any descendant of the HUNTERs or PORTLOCKs. In 1993,I visited Elcy Ann's grave in the Weaver Cemetery. Can someone tell me what county this cemetery is actually in? Thank you, Etta
