Manley James PORTER applied for a homestead in 1885 in Custer county. He appears in the 1885 NE census with his wife Francis and two children John and George. John is a son from Francis's first marriage with the last name of TICE. Manley also appears in the 1890 census of civil war veterans, in Ansley NE. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I have additional information to share as well, including Manley's family bible.

I am trying to track down any information about W.Chapin (I believe his name may have been Warren), who was listed as a Delight farmer in an 1886 Nebraska Archive listing. I also believe his wife's name was Sarah, possibly part of the Kingsbury family, but not certain of that. I wonder specifically if you can give me any hints of how early he may have settled in the area, who his parents were, or where the family may have come from. Any info would be truly appreciated!

I am inquiring about information on my great grandfather and grandmothers' families who were from the Broken Bow area. His name was Charles Frederick Davis and her name was Anna L. Davis(Bristol). They had six children: Kate L, Frederick R, Chauncey W., Ethel, Maggie F., and Ernest N. They left NE in 1905 and moved to Elgin, WA. I read the bio on Anna's brother, Clarence Bristol at this site. I want to know if any relatives from either side are still in the area. Maggie was my Grandmother. Thanks.
