My husband is a descendant of John Holland of Custer County, NE, and I am trying to find information on this family. Someone named Penny Stewart stated she had a photo of this family found in a Portland, Oregon antique shop, and I know that in 1900, my husband's family was in Oregon. If anyone has received a copy of this photo, or if Penny gets this message, could you please contact me at theabove e-mail address? My husband and his father would love to have a copy of that photo.

My dad was adopted by the Thournir family, formerly the Fournier in France. Anyways, my fathers biological dad's last name was Ferriter. In my house, I have a picture of James Ferriter, the picture is from 1926, when he recieved third place in the "beautiful child" picture contest. He was about 5. I heard that he was somewhat of a war hero, had been a POW a few times, and had stolen a Japanese airplane, and flown it back to base. What can you tell me about the Ferriter name? Thanks, -Tom

I am researching on the descendants of my g.g.grandfather Elias MASON (b. 1826, Dennis Twp., Cape May, NJ; d. 1894, Cumro, Custer, Nebraska) who married Mary C. KANE (b. 1833, NJ; d. 1911, Cumro, Custer, Nebraska) in 1850 in Dennis Twp., Cape May, NJ. I am related to Elias and Mary C. MASON through their daughter, Lydia Ellen MASON (b. 22 March 1857 in NJ?; d. 1934) who married Casper THOMPSON (b. 1847 in Heislerville, Cumberland, NJ; d. 1913 also in Heislerville, Cumberland, NJ) on 3rd December 1874 in Crane Creek, Mason, Indiana. Lydia Ellen MASON is my g.grandmother. I'd be more than happy to share information of what I know, and to learn more about the descendants of Elias and Mary C. Mason. Incidentially, I also have some land deed records for Elias Mason in Indiana along with map of the exact location of his property in Indiana. I have not visited Broken Bow yet, but hope to in the future, to gather more information. Also, a cousin of mine was in contact with a woman in Nebraska who had information on Mehetable Mason Griffith, and gave her some copies of pictures of the Griffith family which I have also scanned into my computer. It would be nice to see the relationship of all the people to Mehetable Mason.

Trying to locate my Great Grandmother, she would have been a young girl infant to age 8, I think she was born around the late 1870s early 80s. I'm not sure. Family story tells that her family was chased out of the Indian Territory, Oklahoma and they went to Broken Bow Nebraska. From there, the were supposed to have crossed the Oregon Trail. Her name was Jessie May Younger or Young. I'm afraid I don't know her parents names at this time.

My mother, father, 2 brothers, grandmother, grandfather, and aunt and uncle are all buried in Westerville Cemetery, Westerville, Nebraska. They are: Charles Frederick & Bessie May (Cox) Oathout; Richard and Robert Oathout; Charles Franklin and Rosa Jane (Goble) Oathout; Maude Mae (Gobel)& Isaac Haney. Also, many of the Booknau's. Can't seem to find much, if any, info, on the Booknau family. My mother, Bessie, was a Foster child of Sarah Jane Booknau, who is buried in Los Angeles, CA. I know that there are a lot of Booknau people buried there, because I went to my father's funeral there. Also, can't find anything on the Haney's. Also trying to find info on Isaac Haney's brother, Al Haney and wife Minnie (Gobel) Haney. Uncle Ike and Aunt Maude lived in Scottsbluff, and other locations, and Uncle Al and Aunt Minnie lived in Hyannis, NE. Also, can't locate much on Kai Hansen & Pearl (Goble) Hansen. They lived outside of Hyannis, NE. on a farm. Hope you can help. Thank you. Julie (Oathout) Wilmoth

I am looking for any information about an Eigel or Eiger Jensen. He was the youngest child of Hans Jensen, who was born in Copenhagen and died in Story City, IA in 1921. Other siblings of Eigel or Eiger included: Peder Jensen, who died in Tacoma in 1945--the oldest of the Hans Jensen children. Eigel or Eiger is listed in Peder's obituary as a surviving sibling, living at the time in Sargent, NE. Other evidence suggests that Eigel was a pharmacist, as was Peder and several of the other male siblings (Hans2, Fred, Viggo, and Waldemar (called Walter). Walter Jensen lived in Grant, NE at least during the 1930's. I am the great-granddaughter of Peder. I have located the granddaughter of Hans2. Eigel also had three sisters: Rosalia, Dagmar, and Rebekka. Rosalia died in Oregon, Dagmar in Story City, IA, and Rebekka stayed in Denmark. Eigel's mother was named Maren. She died of TB in Denmark in 1892.

Hello, I am looking for the name of the cemetery where a Fred Kraiger (Krager, Kriger) is buried. I found him last in the 1910 Census for Custer County, Loup township. I believe he may have passed between 1910 and 1920 and I am not familiar with the area so do not and have not been able to locate him. I was wondering if anyone with Cemetery books at their disposal and a general knowledge of that area could find where he could have been buried. He was born 1852-55 in Illinois. He may not have a headstone so cemetery records seem to be my only hope. Thanking you in advance for any help you may be. Jo-Anne McDonald
